Is Emma a person?
If a caller asks whether they are speaking to a person, Emma always answers honestly that she is an AI.
The disclosure cannot be turned off by the business.
Are calls recorded?
California is an all-party consent state for call recording (Penal Code §§632, 632.7). Every participant is told about recording before it starts: Emma says it at the start of a phone call, and a website visitor ticks the notice before the conversation begins. Continuing the call after the announcement, or starting the conversation after the tick, is consent.
How long are recordings kept?
Recordings and transcripts are stored securely, delivered to the business that owns the phone line, and kept for 90 days by default (the business can change this).
Is my data used to train AI?
Call recordings, transcripts, and CRM records are never used to train or improve AI models.
What does Emma never do?
Give legal, medical, pharmaceutical, financial, or other professional advice.
Contact emergency services. If a caller describes an emergency, Emma tells them to hang up and call 911.
How does the free trial work?
Try Emma free for 7 days with your real calls, with 30 minutes included.
No credit card required.
When the trial ends, service simply stops unless you pick a plan. We never auto-charge after a trial.
Medical, dental, pharmacy and therapy businesses start their trial once our health-privacy agreement (BAA) is ready.
How do I cancel?
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing month. Emma keeps answering until then.
You have 30 days after cancellation to export your data from Workky CRM.
Do you give refunds?
If you prepaid for months you have not used, we refund those full months.
Usage already incurred — minute top-ups and SMS — is not refunded.
Is there a contract?
No annual contracts. No early-termination fees.
We never move you to a higher plan without your approval.
Can I delete my account and data?
All customer data is deleted within 30 days; backups purged within 90 days. Billing records are retained as required by law.
I called a business that uses Emma. Who has my information?
The business you called. Workky, the company that runs Emma, stores it securely on the business's behalf. Workky does not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI.
You can ask the business to see, correct, or delete your information.
Can healthcare and therapy businesses use Emma?
Not yet. HIPAA readiness is in progress. Until then, Emma cannot be used for PHI.
